MU women top Concord 84-71

HUNTINGTON - Marshall University got its exhibition schedule off to a strong start with an 84-71 win over Concord University on Thursday night at Cam Henderson Center.

The Herd finished with five players in double-figures, led by Orlandria Williams' 15 points. Jasmine Shaw added 14 points and Leandra King netted 13.

Newcomer Norrisha Victrum added 12 points while Suporia Dickens added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Concord got 20 points each from Andrea Bertrand and Rachel Artrip, who hit six 3-pointers in the contest. Sissy Wagner added 13 in the loss for the Mountain Lions.

Marshall led 42-32 at the break following a 9-0 run to close out the last four minutes of the half.

Marshall returns to action at 2 p.m. on Sunday against Kentucky State.
