QB Club membership party slated for Saturday
HUNTINGTON -- The 22nd Annual Quarterback Club Membership Party, an unofficial season kickoff gathering for Marshall University football fans, is set for Saturday in the Memorial Student Center's Don Morris Room.
The event begins at 8 p.m. and serves as a primary fund-raiser for Thundering Herd football. Cost is $100 per person and includes hors d'oeuvres and beverages. Santa Cruz will provide musical entertainment and Marshall's coaching staff will be in attendance.
All proceeds benefit the Thundering Herd football program.
"It's a great way to kick off the football season," Quarterback Club president Mark George said. "Fans mingle with the coaches and can get an inside look into the football program.
The Quarterback Club's opening luncheon for the 2008 season is Aug. 26 at Pullman Plaza Hotel. Marshall head coach Mark Snyder, offensive coordinator John Shannon and defensive coordinator Rick Minter will serve as speakers.
