Marshall volleyball intra-squad scrimmage today
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall volleyball has a Green vs. White intra-squad scrimmage at 6 p.m. today in Cam Henderson Center.
Marshall has seniors Jalicia Ross and Taylor Tanner among eight returning letterwinners. Sophomore Elizabeth Fleming and Ross were named to the preseason All-Conference USA team.
Fleming was the 2007 C-USA Freshman of the Year.
The Thundering Herd opens the season Friday against Tennessee Tech in the University of Cincinnati Tournament.
Baseball
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall baseball is conducting a fall hitting camp.
Sessions are Mondays in the Cam Henderson Center auxiliary gym from Sept. 22 to 29 and Oct. 6 to 13. The cost is $125.
Session one from 6 to 7 p.m. is for players age 6 to 12. Session two from 7:30 to 9 p.m. is for players age 13 to 18.

Marshall is also having Sept. 8 walk-on tryouts for students at the YMCA Kennedy Center field. Interested students must check in with the Marshall athletic compliance office before trying out.
Tryouts begin at 2 p.m. Participants supply their own glove, cleats and baseball pants.
Softball
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall product Rachel Folden received Rookie of the Year honors in the National Pro Fastpitch League.
Folden led the Chicago Bandits to the NPF championship. The Bandits defeated the Washington Glory, New England Riptide and Philadelphia Force in the championship series.
