Herd volleyball team falls at Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss defeated Marshall's Thundering Herd in a Friday volleyball match, 3-0.

Southern Miss (7-16, 3-8 Conference USA) won, 25-19, 25-22, 25-15. Marshall fell to 16-9 for the season and 6-5 in the conference.

Halie Ecker of Southern Miss had 12 kills while Quinci Howard and Lydia Bonner both had 11. Elizabeth Rinaudo recorded 15 defensive digs and Kristen Fleming had 36 assists.

Marshall was led by Laura Der and Lauren Legge with 15 and eight kills respectively. Dorothy Rahall added 18 while Katy Schad made 11. Sammie Bane had 34 assists.

The Herd road trip continues with a noon, Sunday, match at UCF.
