Lengyel to speak Friday in Campbellsville, Ky.
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Former Marshall University football coach Jack Lengyel will speak at an athletic fundraiser dinner at Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Ky. at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25.
Lengyel was the coach of the Young Thundering Herd, which was the team formed after a 1970 plane crash killed most of the Marshall team, coaches and several community members. The team's story is told in the movie "We Are Marshall."
Before the dinner Friday, Lengyel will speak to the Campbellsville High School football team as they prepare to travel to Lynn Camp High School Friday night. On Saturday, Lengyel will speak to the Campbellsville University football team before the Tigers host West Virginia University Institute of Technology at 1:30 p.m.
