The Kids' Duathlon has a Saturday start at 9 a.m. at Harris Riverfront Park.
Young athletes will compete in two races. Age groups 6-7 and 8-9 are in the first race. Age groups 10-11 and 12-13 are in the second race.
Ages 6-9 will have a quarter-mile run, a one-mile cycling leg and a one-mile run. Ages 10-13 will compete in a half-mile run, 3-mile cycling leg and 1.7-mile run. The Kids' Duathlon course is entirely inside the flood wall along the Ohio River.
Motorists should be alert for some street closings Sunday during the Triathlon/Duathlon that begins Sunday at 8 a.m.
The triathlon has a half-mile swim out and back in the Ohio River, a 15-mile cycling leg from the park west to Camden Park and back and a 5K run on city streets.
Athletes can enter the triathlon as a relay team of two or three members.
For the duathlon, a 5K run takes the place of the swim.
