Kentucky's Wiltjer SEC player of week
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Kentucky forward Kyle Wiltjer is the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Week.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore had 19 points, six rebounds, three blocks and two assists in the Wildcats' season-opening 72-69 victory over Maryland in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Friday. Wiltjer was 6 of 9 shooting including 4 of 6 from 3-point range.
Ohio to host 3 stages of NCAA tourney in 2015
COLUMBUS -- Ohio will host three levels of tournaments -- the First Four in Dayton, second- and third-round games in Columbus and a regional in Cleveland -- in the 2015 NCAA tournament.
The NCAA announced the 2015 dates on Monday.
The First Four will be played March 17-18 at the University of Dayton Arena, the second- and third-round games at Nationwide Arena in Columbus on March 20 and 22 and Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena will host the Midwest Regional games on March 26 and 28.
WR Ivan McCartney leaves West Virginia
MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia's Ivan McCartney has left the team for personal reasons, becoming the second wide receiver to quit the Mountaineers in a week.
Coach Dana Holgorsen didn't elaborate on McCartney's exit Monday.
A junior, McCartney had nine catches for 112 yards this season.
Caldwell makes ace on No. 15 at Sugarwood
LAVALETTE -- Bobby Caldwell made a hole-in-one Sunday on the 15th hole at Sugarwood Golf Club. He used a 9-iron on the 145-yard par 3. Bruce Peters and Dave Meehling witnessed the ace.
Barboursville's Miller makes 2nd hole-in-one
BARBOURSVILLE -- Zach Miller from Barboursville recorded his second hole-in-one Monday at Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club. Miller used a 6-iron to ace No. 7, a 170-yard par 3. Jack Sharp, Lonnie Gibson and Claude Hobbs witnessed the shot.
