Wahama gets 21-12 win over Greenbrier West

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. -- Kane Roush capped a late 80-yard drive with a 10-yard touchdown run and quarterback Trenton Gibbs ran for two scores Saturday as No. 3 seed Wahama earned a 21-12 victory over No. 6 Greenbrier West in the Class A football playoff quarterfinals.

Wahama (12-0) goes to the semifinals against No. 2 Magnola (11-1), which beat East Hardy, 19-14.

The Cavaliers (10-2) trailed just 14-12 and seemingly had momentum when Wahama took over on its own 20 early in the fourth quarter. The White Falcons chewed 6:38 off the clock with a 15-play drive that ended in a TD run by Roush (18 carries, 85 yards) and a nine-point lead.

Gibbs added TD runs of 46 and 1 yard for Wahama, which was outrushed 220-188. Gibbs also hit on 4 of 8 passes for 99 yards.

For West, Tyler Parker ran 27 times for 152 yards and one touchdown and Malik Boatwright had 37 yards and one TD rushing, 75 yards on two kick returns and completed 4 of 6 passes for 56 yards.
