C-K, Vinson play for 10-11 year-old state title

HUNTINGTON -- District 1 champion Ceredo-Kenova and runner-up Vinson are among 10 all-star teams playing in the Little League Baseball 10-11 year-old state tournament.

District 3 champion Hurricane is also playing.

The tournament begins today on fields at Huntington League 3 and Barboursville Community Park.

Pool play games are today, Saturday and Sunday. Two teams from each of the three pools will advance to the single-elimination finals that begins Monday.

C-K opens at 6:45 p.m. today against Morgan County at the League 3 field.

Vinson's first game is 7:30 p.m. Saturday against St. Albans at League 3. Hurricane's tournament debut is 5:15 p.m. Saturday against Grant County at League 3.

Other teams are Bridgeport, Fringe from Fairview, W.Va., Central Greenbrier and Upper Kanawha Valley.
