Steele named as MU interim AD
David Steele, associate athletic director for finance at Marshall University, was appointed as the interim athletic director, Marshall president Stephen J. Kopp announced Wednesday.
HUNTINGTON — David Steele, associate athletic director for finance at Marshall University, was appointed as the interim athletic director, Marshall president Stephen J. Kopp announced Wednesday.
Bob Marcum ended seven years as athletic director when his contract expired Tuesday. A search for a permanent athletic director is underway.
Steele, who grew up in Texas, has been at Marshall since fall 1995.
His current responsibilities include overseeing business operations, budgeting, video and concessions while assisting the athletic director with football scheduling.
He is also the treasurer and a member of the Big Green Executive Committee.
Steele and his wife, Diana, have one daughter, Madison, 18.
