MU roundup: Herd's Blair named C-USA Pitcher of Week
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall's Aaron Blair has been selected as the Conference USA baseball Pitcher of the Week.
In his only outing of the week for the Thundering Herd, Blair pitched six scoreless and hitless innings against the West Virginia Mountaineers in an 8-0 victory at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston.
The junior right-hander recorded 11 strikeouts. He was lifted after six innings because of a high pitch count.
Blair worked out of trouble in the first inning by striking out three hitters after loading the bases with nobody out.
WVU hit only two balls out of the infield.
Marshall's scheduled game Tuesday against No. 8 Kentucky was moved Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Lexington.
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall's softball game scheduled Tuesday at Dot Hicks Field was moved to Wednesday and will be a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
