MU roundup: Kerns tied for second

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Marshall University golfer Nathan Kerns shot a 2-under-par 70 in Monday's final round and tied for second place at the Cobra Puma Invitational.

Edward Figueroa from Florida Gulf Coast was the 54-hole winner (70-66-64 -- 200) while Kerns (68-67-70 -- 205) and Ryan Fricker from Bethune-Cookman (60-68-67 -- 205) shared second place on the Miromar Lakes Golf Course.

Florida Gulf Coast finished first in the 15-team event at 837.Marshall, which carded a 2-under-par 286 to close, ended in seventh place at 869.

Marshall also had Brian Anania (74-76-73 -- 223), Logan Lagodich (74-79-71 -- 224), Jeremy Rogers (78-75-72 -- 225) and Tas Sipowski (73-76-81 -- 230).

Men's soccer

HUNTINGTON -- Asbury University from Wilmore, Ky., will play Marshall in a 6 p.m., Wednesday, men's soccer match at Sam Hood Field on the MU campus.
