Super Cup Stock Car Series racing comes to Ona Speedway
ONA -- Super Cup Stock Car Series racing comes to Ona Speedway for a Saturday show.
Super Cup is billed as "Racin' The Way It Used To Be" on its website, supercupstockcarseries.com, and is a low-cost series affiliated with the United Auto Racing Association.
Series points leader Todd Peck from Hanover, Pa., won the last race, the Kuntz Motor Company 50, June 22 at CNB Bank Raceway Park in Clearfield, Pa.
A two-race weekend began June 21 with J.J. Peck of Bealeton, Va., getting a victory in the Ansel's Tire Outlet 50 at Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, Pa.
Jimmie Crabtree Jr. from Muncie, Ind., won the season opener April 20 at Shenandoah (Va.) Speedway and Jody Harrison of Renick, W.Va., in Greenbrier County was the June 1 winner at Columbus Motor Speedway in Ohio.
Harrison was the 2012 SCSCS series champion. J.P. Crabtree of Muncie, Ind., was the 2012 Rookie of the Year.
SCSCS practice begins at 2 p.m. followed by qualifying at 5 p.m. Ona Speedway U-Cars, Hobby Stocks and Sport Mods practice at 3 p.m.
Racing revs up at 7 p.m. with the local divisions and SCSCS feature race.
