Athletic office schedules "Choose A Seat" promotion
Thundering Herd
Marshall University's athletic ticket office scheduled a "Choose A Seat" football season ticket promotion July 11 from noon to 2 p.m. in Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
All first-time season ticket buyers or current season ticket holders who purchase additional seats will receive a free Red Dawson autographed DVD of the movie "We Are Marshall." Dawson was an assistant coach when the Marshall team plane crashed on Nov. 14, 1970.
Season tickets for six home games start at $88 and range up to $579.

Distance run
Jason Pyles of Huntington is the four-time defending champion of the Summer Motion 10K distance run.
This year's race is Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. in Ashland. The race course begins and ends between 17th Street and 18th Street on Central Avenue.
