HUNTINGTON -- Following are notes on some of the teams playing for US Youth Soccer Region I Championships. Information provided by www.usyouthsoccer.org.

U-17 WV SOCCER CLUB GOAL GIRLS

Marshall University spring graduate Erin Johnson, a Conference USA All-Academic selection and 2008 Thundering Herd team captain, is the coach/trainer. Marshall football All-American and College Football Hall of Fame member Mike Barber is a coach.

U-18 BOYS CHARLESTON FUTBOL CLUB ELITE

Of the 17 players, 12 are going to play soccer in college. Goalkeeper Connell Green scored 34 on the ACT and graduated high school with a 4.6 GPA. He will play at McGill University in Montreal.

U-18 GIRLS WV UNITED SOCCER CLUB VISION

The Morgantown team is a seven-time defending state champion.

U-12 BOYS BEACHSIDE (CONN.)

Undefeated in Connecticut. Allowed only one goal all year while scoring 67.

U-19 BOYS BURLINGTON REVOLUTION (CONN.)

Team has 10 players at NCAA Division I schools.

U-16 GIRLS CFC UNITED (CONN.)

Goalkeeper Sinead Crotty has played on the U-17 Irish National Team. She is verbally committed to Providence College.

U-18 BOYS DE UNITED FC (DEL.)

Team formed four years ago and has won four consecutive state championships. Sixteen players will be on college teams next year.

U-17 BOYS SEACOAST UNITED MAINE

Region 1 finalist 2006 and 2008.

U-16 GIRLS BETHESDA DRAGONS (MD.)

National Team player Alex Doll and three NCAA Division I recruits.

U-19 GIRLS SOUTH SHORE SELECT (MASS.)

Team has 16 NCAA Division I players.

U-13 BOYS PISCATAWAY CHELSEA (N.J.)

Players are from 11 different countries.

U-14 BOYS DIX HILLS THUNDER (EASTERN N.Y.)

National Team player Dylan Greenberg and Regional Team player Jonathan Interiano are on the team.

U-18 GIRLS ALBERTSON 90 FURY (EASTERN N.Y.)

All 20 team members play in college. Schools include Yale, Dartmouth, NYU, Johns Hopkins, Boston College, George Washington, Duke, Maryland, Lehigh, South Florida, Binghamton, Buffalo and Williams Smith.

U-19 Boys Rochester FC (N.Y. West)

All college players. Two players just returned from Germany with a Region I team.

U-14 Boys FC Delco Cannibals (Eastern Pa.)

Goalkeeper Zack Steffen is on the U-14 National Team.

U-18 Boys V/E Blast (Eastern Pa.)

Eleven players have college soccer scholarships.

U-16 Girls Burlington Lakers SC (Vt.)

Eleven current players and alums of the Burlington Lakers led the Burlington High School team to a Division 1 state championship.
