Top guard checking out the Herd
HUNTINGTON — Sam Mills, the No. 21 point guard prospect in the nation according to Scout.com, is at Marshall University on a men’s basketball recruiting visit.
Mills was at Marshall’s workout Friday in Cam Henderson Center.
He is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who averaged 15 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals per game as a junior.
Mills had a good summer on the AAU circuit, the Web site Florida Hoops Recruits reported, including a championship at the Best of the South tournament in Tampa, Fla.
Other schools in the recruiting mix include Georgia Tech and Florida State. The National Letter of Intent early signing period is Nov. 11-18.
