Wayne native Jon Adkins named co-MVP of Louisville Bats
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Wayne County native Jon Adkins was named co-MVP for the Louisville Bats for the 2008 season, according to a news release.
Right-handed pitcher Adkins and first baseman Kevin Barker shared the Mary E. Barney MVP award, after leading the Bats to a 88 wins and the International League West Division Title.
An International League All-Star, Adkins went 1-4 with a 3.48 ERA in a team-high 57 appearances. The Bats' closer led the league with 30 saves.
