Cardinals rally past Fairland 29-28
PROCTORVILLE, Ohio -- After trailing 28-0 at the half, Sheldon Clark stormed back to score 29 unanswered points to upend Fairland 29-28.
Two touchdowns from Cody Slone aided the comeback, but it was a final score by Austin Stepp from four yards out with 1:00 left to go in the game that helped seal the win.
Trailing 28-27, Sheldon Clark's Ryan Kelly scored the two-point conversion for the comeback victory. Kelly rushed for 89 yards on 21 carries, while Slone carried the ball 14 times for 44 yards.
Fairland's Chad Fisher ran for 101 yards and two scores on nine carries and added a touchdown pass -- all in the first half. However, early in the third quarter, Fisher was injured and did not return.
Dragons' quarterback Cole Hatfield tossed two touchdown passes and threw for 109 yards.
