MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia's Mike Dent is among 42 players named to the watch list for the Rimington Trophy, given to the nation's best center.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound senior was a second-team all-Big East selection last year and started all 13 games.
The Mountaineers produced two 1,000-yard rushers in quarterback Pat White and running back Steve Slaton. WVU also allowed just 13 sacks and ranked third nationally in rushing offense.
Former WVU center Dan Mozes won the award in 2006.
The winner will be honored on Jan. 17, 2009, in Lincoln, Neb. Dave Rimington was a former Nebraska center and two-time Outland Trophy winner in 1981-82.
