Herd women win 6 at Marietta Indoor
MARIETTA, Ohio -- Marshall University women's track and field athletes won six events Friday at the Marietta Invitational indoor meet.
LaTricia Jones won the weight throw with a toss of 57-08.25, three feet clear of second place.
Andrea Jackson took first place in the triple jump at 40-00.50 feet.
Other first-place finishes included Amber Pierson in the long jump, Rolanda Bruce in the 400-meter dash, Alecia Daniels in the 55-meter hurdles, and the 4x200 meter team of Jackson, Pierson, Chelsey Fowler and Alexis Devaul.
Other highlights included Rachel Coaxum earning second in the 55-meter hurdles. Vanessa Jules and Kristin Smith placed second and third in the high jump, respectively.
Marshall competes next weekend at the Akron Invitational.
