Sports in brief: Kentucky Christian hosting youth clinic with tournament

GRAYSON, Ky. -- Kentucky Christian University is hosting a youth clinic in conjunction with the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II women's basketball championship.

The free clinic for children age 5 to 12 is Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Lusby Center. Participants should bring a basketball and a pair of indoor basketball shoes.

Instructors will include the Tri-Way Wizards' ball-handling team and players from teams in the tournament, including the KCU Lady Knights.

Tournament games begin Tuesday. Top-seeded Kentucky Christian (24-6) plays its first game at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Kentucky Christian won the Mid-East Region championship.

Hank Sammons aces No. 15 at Guyan

HUNTINGTON -- Dr. Hank Sammons made a hole-in-one Wednesday at Guyan Golf and Country Club.

Sammons aced the No. 15 hole, a 150-yard, par-3, with a 7-iron. Witnesses were Bob Vital, Jim Hartley and Ike Light.
