Goodman has 300 in Friday Mixed League

KENOVA -- Roger Goodman rolled a perfect game Friday night in the Friday Mixed League at Ceredo Lanes. He started with 194 and added a 256 before the 300 and a 750 series. The 300 is the fifth this season for the left-hander. He's also rolled a 299.

WVU football schedule for 2009 season is out

MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia's 2009 football schedule includes a a nationally televised home game against Colorado and a road game at Auburn.

WVU athletic director Ed Pastilong released the schedule Friday.

Pastilong says the Mountaineers will play seven home games. The home schedule includes the Sept. 5 season opener against Liberty and the Oct. 1 game against Colorado. The Colorado game will be televised by ESPN.

Other home games are East Carolina on Sept. 12, Marshall on Oct. 17, Connecticut on Oct. 24, Louisville on Nov. 7 and Pittsburgh on Nov. 27.

The Mountaineers will face Auburn on Sept. 19. Other road games are Syracuse on Oct. 10, South Florida on Oct. 30, Cincinnati on Nov. 13 and Rutgers on Dec. 5.

Regional Golden Gloves scheduled March 13-14

ASHLAND -- The Tri-State Regional Golden Gloves boxing tournament will be held March 13-14 at the Ashland National Guard Armory. Proceeds from the show will held finance the trip for Open champions to the National Golden Gloves in May in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The ABC Police Athletic League show will be held April 11 at Boyd County Middle School. Bell time is 3 p.m. ABC stands for teams from Ashland, Boyd County and Catlettsburg.
