Wayne's Thompson pitches second no-hitter
WAYNE -- Emily Thompson's second no-hitter of the softball season led Wayne to a doubleheader sweep of Mingo Central.
Wayne won the first game, 11-4, in four innings. The Pioneers took game two, 10-0, in three innings.
Thompson pitched the second game, recording seven strikeouts and walking one in the three-inning contest. She also had a double and drove in two runs.
Autumn Booton added a pair of RBIs.
Shelby Fields gave up just four hits and got the game one victory.
Thompson and Kasey Endicott smacked home runs in the second game. Jacey Parsons added a pair of RBI singles.
Wayne (16-4) hosts Wahama for a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
