SPRING VALLEY -- Victor Gomez and Brandon Casamassima hit home runs for Marshall in Saturday's baseball doubleheader sweep of Delaware State at the Spring Valley High School field.

The games were moved from the YMCA Kennedy Center field that was dedicated Friday to George Smailes Jr. A Friday game at the Kennedy Center was rained out.

Gomez blasted his 10th homer of the season in a 6-1 victory. Casamassima's sixth homer of the year was in a 5-1 victory.

Thundering Herd pitchers Steve Blevins (8-2) and Dan Straily (4-3) notched the victories.

The Gomez homer, a three-run shot, highlighted a five-run third inning in game one.

Marshall scored three times in the first inning of the second game on Casamassima's solo homer and RBI singles by Gomez and Jeff Rowley.
