HHS girls blow out George Washington

CHARLESTON -- Huntington High got 18 points and 12 rebounds from freshman Ericka Budd, while guard Dazha Congleton had 12 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds as the Highlanders blew out the Patriots in Charleston Wednesday night.

The win puts Huntington High at 8-3 on the year. The Highlanders play in Charleston again Saturday when they take on Capital.

HUNTINGTON HIGH 15 14 16 24 -- 69: Johnson 4, Alexis Williams 10, Dazha Congleton 12 (10 assists, 10 rebounds), Kiana Evans 13, Ericka Budd 18, Dominique Gibson 12.

GEORGE WASHINGTON 13 17 5 15 -- 50: Stewart 4, Kelly Jo Harrison 8, Rachel Ward 18, K. Stewart 7, Mobayed 9, Moore 3, Ash 1.

PRINCETON 58, HURRICANE 42: The Tigers used a 25-7 third quarter to separate from Hurricane at home Wednesday night.

The Redskins got 21 points from Abby Watson, but no one else broke double figures in the loss. Princeton was led by Marshall recruit McKenzie Akers, who had 24.

Hurricane drops to 4-5, and plays next at Riverside Friday.
