Midland girls beat Winfield, go to 10-3

WINFIELD -- Cabell Midland moved its record to 10-3 with a 64-38 girls basketball win Saturday at Winfield.

The Knights had double-double games from Emily Pitkin (20 points, 15 rebounds) and Sierra Jordan (14 points, 10 rebounds), along with 12 assists from Grace Jarrell.

Haley Moore lead the Generals with 15 points.

The Knights host Spring Valley on Wednesday.

SPRING VALLEY 82, HURRICANE 48: Spring Valley won its 12th straight game in impressive fashion.

Madison Morris had 30 points to lead the Timberwolves while her older sister, Mackenzie Morris, chipped in 15. Cassidy Lemons scored 11 and Brooke Heck scored 10.

Hurricane was led by Abby Watson with 26.

FAIRLAND 92, RIVER VALLEY 47: Fairland rolled to its 12th victory of the season in a 45-point drubbing of River Valley on the road.

The Dragons (12-0) were led by Caitlin Stone with 19 points and Chandler Fulks with 18.

River Valley was led by Cady Gilmore with 14.

Fairland next plays Monday at the Classic in the Country in Berlin, Ohio.

PHELPS 50, HANNAN 45: Phelps went 18-for-23 from the free throw line in a game of the Hatfield McCoy Shootout at the Williamson Field House.

Hannan was 7-for-11 at the charity stripe.

Phelps was led by Zach Avina, who had 20 points. Hannan's Tyler Burns, a sophomore, stuck four 3-pointers in a 22-point effort.

Hannan drops to 2-12 on the season, and next plays Buffalo home at Tuesday.
