Boyd County boys top Russell, 79-59

SUMMIT, Ky. -- Boyd County boys basketball won at home Tuesday against Russell, 79-59.

Austin Hunt led the Lions (14-9) with 25 points, Grayson Griffith followed with 18 and Todd Stacy added 12.

Kyle Skaggs fired in 27 points to lead the Red Devils (18-6). Lance Evans and Jacob Porter followed with 15 and 12 respectively.

WINFIELD 45, CABELL MIDLAND 38: Brock Pence and Zach Fisher scored 18 and 10 respectively for the Winfield Generals (7-6).

Niles Dailey led the Knights (4-10) with nine points.

BUFFALO 73, HANNAN 53: Class A No. 7 Buffalo (12-1) got in front early on the road.

Levi Jordan's 29 points led the Bison. Laythen Good scored 13 and Isaiah Robinson 11.

Hannan (2-13) was led by Tyler Burns with 18 points and Paul Holley with 11.

The Wildcats have another home game Saturday against Wayne.

Kyle Stewart led the Raiders (9-11) with 26 points.

The Tomcats play at home Thursday against Bath County.

TOLSIA 63, SISSONVILLE 47: Tolsia upset Class AA No. 7 Sissonville, 63-47, in a Tuesday girls basketball game.

Savannah Winnett and Krista Maynard both had double-double games for Tolsia (10-3). Winnett had 24 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. Maynard had 14 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and five steals.

Jamie Maynard chipped in 11 points.

Sissonville (11-4) was led by Karli Pinkerton's 19 points.

Tolsia plays again Friday at Herbert Hoover.
