MU softball All-Anniversary team announced

HUNTINGTON -- Players on the Marshall University softball All-Annversary Team were revealed Friday at the Diamond Club Dinner.

Fan's voted online at HerdZone.com for a 12-member All-Anniversary team roster to help celebrate the 20th year of Thundering Herd softball. Marshall coaches placed 38 former players on the ballot. A total of 3,170 ballots were submitted.

Members of the All-Anniversary team are:

RACHEL FOLDEN (2005-08): A four-time All-America selection. A career .405 hitter that included a school-record .425 average as a senior. Had 266 career hits and 58 home runs.The 2006 Conference USA Player of the Year and 2005 Freshman of the Year. A Commissioner's Honor Roll member.

VANESSA CLARKSON (1999-02): A career .284 hitter. All Mid-American Conference second team in 2000 and All-Region second team in 2001.

NICHOLE CORRIGAN (1999-02): A two-time All Mid-American Conference and All-Region selection with a .312 career batting average. Also a two-time NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete.

ALIANNA TELLES (2009-12): All-Conference USA second team in 2012. C-USA All-Freshman Team selection in 2009. A two-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll selection. A four-year starter at shortstop.

JESSICA WILLIAMS (2003-06): A four-year starter with 201 career hits and 64 stolen bases. A four-time All-Conference USA selection. A two-time NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete.

J.J. BITNER (2006-09): Had a .318 career batting average. Was twice named to the All-Conference USA second team. C-USA All-Freshman Team member in 2006. All-Region first team in 2009.

JEANNE NOBLE (1994-95): Batted .333 in two seasons. Had 59 career RBIs. Named All-Southern Conference in 1995.

AMANDA WILLIAMS (2003-06): Joins her twin sister on the team. Batted .421 as a freshman and .370 for her career. Marshall career record holder for runs (184) and doubles (68). Was a four-time all-conference and all-region first team selection A two-time NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete.

SIERRA DAVENPORT (2001-04): Had a .352 career batting average and a 2.17 ERA with 22 victories in the pitching circle. Marshall career leader with 130 stolen bases. Mid-American Conference Player of the Year in 2004. NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete in 2003.

CAITLYN JACKSON (2007-10): A .321 lifetime hitter who also pitched. Recorded 28 pitching victories and had 247 strikeouts. Conference USA All-Freshman Team member in 2007 and a two-time All-Region selection.

SARA GULLA (1998-2001): A pitcher who won 48 games in a four-season career. Holds school records for career ERA (1.83) and strikeouts (727). A two-time All Mid-American Conference selection.

RANDI NIELSON (2002-05): Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2003. She had a career 1.92 ERA and won 61 games. Was a two-time NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete.
