HUNTINGTON -- Sweetheart Clinic participants will help Marshall University women's basketball break into the Conference USA win column Sunday afternoon.

Memphis (13-8, 4-3) visits Marshall (6-13, 0-6) at 2 p.m. in Cam Henderson Center.

The crowd will include girls age four to 12 who attended the Sweetheart Clinic earlier in the Marshall Recreation Center. Clinic registration was cut off at 165 girls who rotated through nine stations and learned fundamental skills from members of Marshall's nine women's sports.

The annual clinic is conducted in recognition of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Clinic participants will complete their final rotation at 1:15 p.m. then have a pizza party and pep rally led by the Thundering Herd cheerleaders before the game.

Girls attending the clinic get free admission to the game. Family members and observers can purchase a ticket at the clinic for $3.

Memphis leads the conference in scoring average (70.8), but is last in defense (65.6).

Forward Nicole Dickson, a 6-foot senior for the Tigers, leads C-USA with a 19.9 scoring average along with averaging 7.0 rebounds per game.

Dickson recorded her 14th career double-double in a Thursday victory over East Carolina (64-60) with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman guard Ariel Hearn followed with 16 points and averages 14.5 a game.

Junior guard Bilqi Abdul-Qaadir adds 9.9 points for the Tigers.

Marshall is ranked last in C-USA scoring average (55.0) and in field goal percentage (42.1). The Thundering Herd is sixth in scoring defense (59.4).

Junior guard Erika Woods scored 14 while 6-3 sophomore Chukwuka Ezeigbo had 11 points, nine rebounds and one blocked shots in a 54-47 loss Thursday at East Carolina.

Shay Weaver (9.8), Ezeigbo (8.6), Norrisha Victrum (7.9) and Suporia Dickens (6.2) are the Herd's scoring average leaders.

Ezeigbo and Dickens average 6.3 and 5.5 rebounds respectively.
