Jennings is tops at foul-shooting contest

HUNTINGTON -- Audrey Jennings, representing Huntington Elks Lodge No. 313, led all competitors in the state finals of the 41st West Virginia Elks finals of the Hoop Shoot foul shooting contest.

Jennings, a Village of Barboursville Elementary School student, made 23 of 25 in the girls age 8-9 division.

Corey Sweeney from Martha Elementary School made 20 of 25 to win the boys age 10-11 division.

Abigail Lee from Huntington St. Joe made 17 of 25 and placed second in the girls age 10-11 division.

State winners advance to the regional finals March 16 in Middletown, Md.

From the regionals winners go to the Hoop Shoot nationals in Springfield, Mass.
