Fuller hiring official

February 14, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Chattanooga football defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Adam Fuller was officially named Wednesday as the Marshall University linebackers coach.

Fuller was at Chattanooga for four seasons.

"Our linebacking corps will benefit greatly from Adam's addition to the staff," Marshall head coach Doc Holliday said in a news release. "He has been very successful everywhere he has been and his experience with this position makes us better."

In 2012, Fuller's defense ranked in the top 18 in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in nearly every category, including first down defense (6th, 15.7 per game), total defense (10th, 307.91), pass defense (12th, 166.0) and scoring defense (18th, 20.4).

Four of the Mocs coached by Fuller received All-Southern Conference honors.

"I want to thank Coach Holliday and Marshall University for the opportunity to increase upon the traditions and championships of the past," Fuller said. "We are focused on doing whatever it takes to be successful at Marshall."

Before going to Chattanooga, he was the head coach for one season at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass., and worked at the University of Richmond from 2005-07.

Fuller and his wife, Hope, have two sons, Jake and Aldan.
