Marshall women to face UTEP in Conference USA tournament
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall Thundering Herd women's basketball faces UTEP in the Conference USA tournament first round.
No. 12 seed Marshall (9-20, 3-13) and No. 5 UTEP (20-9, 8-8) meet at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, in Tulsa, Okla. The winner will play No. 4 UAB (18-11, 9-7) at 2:30 p.m., Thursday.
Women's first-round and quarterfinal games are in the Tulsa Convention Center. The semifinals and finals are in the BOK Center.
Top-seeded regular-season champion SMU (21-8, 12-4) has a first-round bye. Other teams with byes are No. 2 East Carolina (21-8, 11-5), No. 3 Tulane (22-7, 11-5).
