Crabtree, Ward take down pick-em prizes

Oct. 08, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Jim Crabtree of Culloden and James Diamond of Wheelersburg, Ohio had something in common this week. Each turned in perfect ballots in the Football Pick-Em Contest.

That meant the tiebreaker would be needed to determine the winner. West Virginia outscored Texas, 48-45, for 93 points. Crabtree guessed 92 and Diamond 60, so Crabtree is the winner.

Since there were conflicting ballots for the week, it was decided there would be two winners. Both Crabtree and Diamond went perfect on the same ballot (seven high school games, three college).

On the other ballot (eight high school games and two college), there were seven entries with one miss. Again tiebreaker time. Roger Ward of Ona wrote down 95 so he gets the win and second prize.

There were 161 total entries for the week.
