Frischkorn ranked 57th overall in Tour De France

HUNTINGTON -- Charleston native William Frischkorn is the state's contribution to the Tour de France.

Frischkorn, who was born in Charleston and lived there until age 14, finished 141st in Tuesday's stage of the grueling three-week cycling race. He is 57th overall after the first four stages.

Frischkorn trains in Boulder, Colo., with Team Garmin-Chipotle, which has three of four Americans riding in the Tour de France.

Stefan Schumacher of Germany holds the overall lead.

Frischkorn used a runner-up finish in Monday's stage to climb in the standings.
