MU women finish far back

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Rachel Thompson led Marshall Thundering Herd women's golf with a tie for 21st place in the weather-shortened C&F Bank Intercollegiate on the River Course in Kingsmill Resort.

Boston College won with a two-round score of 596. Marshall shot 656 and finished 18th in the 28-team tournament.

Vinn-Hoa Ngo of Boston College took medalist honors at 3-over par 74-71 -- 145.

Marshall players were Thompson (78-76 -- 154), Korakot Simsiriwong (81-76 -- 157), Maria Battaglia (82-85 -- 167), Caitlyn Morrone (88-92 -- 180) and Kristyn Morrone (91-90 -- 181).
