Hively stays hot, leads MU softball to win over Stetson
DeLAND, Fla. -- Alysia Hively's two-run double and a solo home run led Marshall University in a 6-4 non-conference softball victory Wednesday against Stetson at Patricia Wilson Field.
Hively's double drove in two runs in the first inning when Marshall (15-12) also had an RBI single by Savanah Webster. Hively led off a two-run fourth inning with her sixth homer of the season.
Bri Anna Hope, Hively and Webster each had two hits.
Marshall starting pitcher Andi Williamson (15-11) went four innings to get the win. The Hatters collected six hits against three Thundering Herd pitchers.
Stetson (17-10) had a three homer day by Demi Meza who tied a school record with solo shots in the third, fourth and seventh innings.
Marshall stays on the road and begins a three-game Conference USA series Friday at UCF in Orlando.
