Sports in brief: Milton Middle moves to first in wrestling poll
HUNTINGTON -- Milton Middle School is ranked No. 1 in the West Virginia Junior High Coaches wrestling poll. The Panthers received 214 points to move up from second to the top spot.
Point Pleasant Middle and Ripley Middle each collected 201 points to share second. Edison, ranked No. 1 last week, dropped to No. 5.
Evans shoots 299 in Eastern Heights League
HUNTINGTON -- Dick Evans shot a 299 in the Eastern Heights Men's League on Monday at Strike Zone. He left a 10-pin on his final shot. The left-hander finished with a 714 series.
Bates to see action in pro wrestling show
ASHLAND -- Ohio Championship Wrestling will have a seven-match card tonight at the Ashland National Guard Armory. Bell time is 7:30 p.m.
Jeremy Bates of Ashland gets back in the ring again with a match against "Mr. Electricity" Johnny Noble.
The first of three main events pits OCW heavyweight champion "The Natural" Andy Douglas against United States champion "Sexy" Sean Casey.
Tickets are $10 ringside and $8 general admission. Children 5 and under get in free.
