Television's Chuck Woolery hosting Morehead State tourney
Ashland native Chuck Woolery, TV game show host and Morehead State University alumnus, will emcee the "Celebration of MSU Athletics" on Friday, and will be one of the celebrities that will participate in the Steve Hamilton Celebrity Golf Tournament at Eagle Trace Golf Course on Saturday.
"I am so looking forward to being back for the golf event. It has been a while since I have been on campus, maybe 30 years, so it will be nice to reconnect with old friends and play golf with them," Woolery told Tammy Sue Enix of Morehead State media relations. "It is always great to come back home. I have fished every stream and lake in the area, and have great memories of my time in school at Morehead State."
The auction will take place at 6 p.m. Friday in the Adron Doran University Center.
Woolery had a seven-year run as host of "Wheel of Fortune." He's perhaps best known to television audiences as host of "Love Connection", where he established the infamous "back in two and two." The show, which ran 11 years, is currently part of GSN's daytime lineup.
An avid fisherman, Woolery has appeared on QVC to sell his signature series of top-water bass fishing lures. His lure is the highest-selling fishing product in QVC history. The lures can be seen on Motolure.com.
