Ashland falls in Kentucky state baseball tournament

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Pleasure Ridge Park defeated Ashland, 5-0, in a Tuesday opening-round game of the Kentucky high school baseball state tournament at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

Pleasure Ridge Park (35-7) jumped out with two runs in the first inning on Alex Miller's single and Joseph Johnson's double.

The Panthers added two more runs in the fifth inning when Ashland (26-10) committed two errors and finished it with one run in the seventh on another error by the Tomcats.

Winning pitcher Kyle Olliges allowed only two hits -- singles by Logan Salow and Cameron Fritz.
