Chesapeake wrestlers defeat two OVC teams
BIDWELL, Ohio -- Chesapeake won seven weight classes and picked up the victory in a tri-match with River Valley and Fairland.
This was supposed to the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, but only three schools competed. So the match did not count toward crowning a league champion. By OVC rules, at least two-thirds of the league must participate in order for a conference championship to be awarded.
Chesapeake's champs were Logan McCloud (106), Sawyer Stevens (120), Shawn Johnson (152), Dylan Maynard (170), Nick Lucas (182), Jaycob Kitchen (220) and Cole Webb (285).
Fairland produced five champs. They were Austin Earls (113), Timmy Emery (126), Jordan Holmann (132), Clayton Edmonds (160) and Zach McKinney (195).
River Valley picked up two titles. Paul Reynolds (138) and Trae Cornell (145) both repeated as champs at their weight class.
