HUNTINGTON -- The West Virginia High School Region IV swim meet is scheduled at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, at Marshall University's Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium in Cam Henderson Center.

Schools competing are Cabell Midland, Capital, Charleston Catholic, George Washington, Herbert Hoover, Huntington High, Hurricane, Mingo Central, Nitro, Point Pleasant, South Charleston, Spring Valley, St. Albans, Huntington St. Joseph Central and Winfield.

Point Pleasant and Mingo Central are newcomers.

The top three individuals in each event from each region will qualify for the state meet Feb. 14 and 15 at West Virginia University. The remaining qualifiers will be the next fastest 12 competitors, by time, from all four regions.

In relays, the top three teams from each region and next six fastest times from all regions combined will advance to Morgantown. This will only occur if all regionals use automatic timing.

George Washington is the defending Region IV champion in the boys and girls divisions. The top six swimmers in points for boys and girls make All-Region.
