MU golfers fourth in North Carolina

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Marshall University finished fourth with four players in the top 15 in the Davidson College Invitational

Davidson won the tournament.

Marshall's Nathan Kerns shot 76 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for third place at 5-over-par 147 while Brian Anania's 73 put him in a tie for sixth at plus-6 150.

Other players for Marshall were Jeremy Rogers 77 -- 151, Logan Lagodich 76 -- 152 and Jake Miller 81 -- 166.


KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Marshall women's golf finished 28th out of 32 teams at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate.

Cambell won with former Cabell Midland High School golfer Brooke Bellomy tying for 13th place.

Korakot Simsiriwong of the Thundering Herd shot 77 and tied for 21st at 12-over-par 228.

The other Herd players were Rachel Thompson 80 -- 241, Maria Battaglia 84 -- 260, Caitlyn Morrone 86 -- 262 and Kristyn Morrone 86 -- 283.


HUNTINGTON -- Marshall's softball game Wednesday at the University of Kentucky was postponed and no makeup date was announced.

Marshall begins Conference USA play with a 2 p.m., Saturday, doubleheader against Tulsa at Dot Hicks Field.
