UCF at Marshall, 2 p.m., Saturday

Feb. 01, 2013 @ 07:45 PM

HUNTINGTON — Getting a victory Saturday would be big for the Marshall Thundering Herd, regardless of who’s sitting on the opposing bench.

The 2 p.m. men’s basketball game in Cam Henderson Center has UCF head coach Donnie Jones, a Point Pleasant, W.Va., native, returning to lead the Knights against his former team for the final time as a Conference USA member. A Feb. 20 rematch at UCF Arena in Orlando is followed by the Knights leaving C-USA next season for the Big East Conference.

UCF is ineligible for postseason play, including the conference tournament, because of NCAA recruiting sanctions.

Third-place UCF, 15-5 overall and 5-1 in C-USA, takes on seventh-place Marshall (9-12, 2-4) in a game scheduled to be televised on WCHS-8 and CSS (Ch. 68 on Huntington cable).
