Chesapeake's Duffield 2nd in Ohio state golf
COLUMBUS -- Chesapeake's Nick Duffield finished in a tie for second in the Ohio Division II State Golf Tournament played on Ohio State's par-71 Scarlet Course.
Duffield shot an 80 on Saturday for a 36-hole score of 157. He shared second with Tripp French of Dayton Oakwood. He also shot 77 and 80.
Cameron Willis of Eaton was medalist with 151 after carding 76 in the final round.
As a team, Chesapeake wound up seventh with 694. Drew Oxley posted 84 for 177, Eric Sias 90 for 180, Seth Waggoner 86 for 180 and Shane Stevens 90 for 188.
Dayton Oakwood breezed to victory, shooting 319 Saturday for a 639 total. French led the Lumberjacks with 157. Other scores were Jack Kegelmeyer, 81 for 160; Austin Wells, 78 for 161; Andy Mayhew, 80 for 162; and Alex Marquis, 84 for 166.
Canton Central Catholic posted a round-low 315 to take second with 658.
Gallia Academy's Rob Canady closed with 80 to tie for 13th with 164.
