MU game balls

Offense

Rakeem Cato

Cato took excellent care of the football against a gimmicky defense and threw for 341 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Herd,

Defense

Derrick Thomas

Despite not practicing all week due to injury, Thomas had seven tackles, a forced fumble and an important pass break-up inside the 5-yard line that preceded the Herd's lone fourth-down stop to seal the win.

Special teams

Jeremiah Taylor

Taylor's blocked field goal came with the score 17-7 and loomed large in the contest, especially once Memphis cut the Herd lead to three in the fourth quarter.
