November 02, 2009 @ 12:15 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Two teams who used to meet on a regular basis will be reunited Friday night when No. 7 seed Coal Grove travels to No. 2 Oak Hill for an Ohio Division V Region 19 quarterfinal game at 7:30 p.m. at Davis Stadium.

Coal Grove blanked Fairland, 20-0, Friday night to win the Ohio Valley Conference championship outright and secure a playoff berth for the first time since 1996.

Oak Hill competed in the OVC from 1953-84. The Oaks are now in the Southern Ohio Conference and captured the league's Division I crown Friday night with a 49-7 win at home against South Gallia. The Oaks posted the school's second 10-0 mark and locked up their first post-season trip.

The two teams had four common opponents. Coal Grove beat Chesapeake, Rock Hill and River Valley and lost to Minford. Oak Hill defeated all four.

Wheelersburg is the other area team in the Division V playoffs. The No. 5 Pirates (8-2) visit Monroe Central (Woodsfield) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

In Division IV, No. 2 Ironton in Region 15 is home against No. 7 Sparta Highland (8-2) at 7 p.m. Saturday at Tanks Memorial Stadium.

In Division VI, Symmes Valley (8-2) is the eighth seed in Region 23 and travels to No. 1 Malvern on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m.

In West Virginia the regular season wraps up this weekend.

Playoff pairings in Kentucky were to be completed Sunday night.
