Marshall golf team signs player from Connecticut
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University men's golf coch Matt Grobe announced the signing of Clark Robinson, a player from South Windsor, Conn., who spent the past year at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Robinson's year at IMG Academy included a Hurricane Junior Golf Tour victory at the Preserve Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. He had runner-up finishes on the IMG Junior Golf Tour at the Laural Oak Golf Club and LPGA National in Daytona Beach, Fla.
"We are really pleased to have Clark Robinson coming to Marshall this fall," Grobe said. "He was a really good high school golfer at South Windsor High School in Connecticut and spent the last year honing his skills at the IMG Academy.
"We believe he is the type of player that can come in and make an immediate impact for our golf team."
Robinson was a four-year letterman at South Windsor. He was named to the Connecticut all-state team three times and to the All-New England Team.
He joins Will Evans from George Washington High School in Charleston in the Marshall recruiting class.
