Local teams to cheer for state title

CHARLESTON -- Spring Valley and Tolsia cheerleaders compete for state championships Friday.

The cheerleading state championships begin at 10 a.m. in the Charleston Civic Center. Spring Valley qualified in Class AAA as the Region IV winner. Tolsia was the runner-up in Class AA, Region IV.

Spring Valley squad members are Eliza Amos, Josie Boyd, Jamie Tomblin, Kathleen Hardin, Rachel Johnson, Kaylee Poehlein, Taylor Ward, Erica Butcher, McKenzie Holderby, Shannon Morrone, Brenna Adkins, Jaida Adkins, Mashea Copley, Baylee Harrison, Brianna Roberts, Kelsey Seibert and Emily Thompson.

Heather Morrone coaches the Timberwolves. Assistant coaches are Terri Ward and Candi Harrison.

Tolsia cheerleaders are Kabrina Brewer, Laykn Dearnell, Jordan Presley, Kadi Conn, Kerri Lahoda, Sheree Vanhoose, Megan Williamson, Sara Fitzpatrick, Charlee Hill, Michaela Messer, Justin Thompson, McKenna Blackburn, Whitney Ferguson, Santana Fitzpatrick, Megan Perry and Payton Stanley.

The Rebels' head coach is Trina Fitzpatrick. Her assistants are Tawnya Vance and Tara Crabtree.

Tug Valley and Man qualified as the Class A, Region III winner and runner-up respectively.
