Speer goes one shot under age at Riviera
HUNTINGTON -- John Speer of Huntington, who is 76, shot a 75 for his round Monday at Riviera Country Club. Keith Dean was his playing partner.
WVU recruit Davis going to prep school
MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia basketball recruit Roscoe Davis plans to attend prep school in the 2008-09 season.
Coach Bob Huggins announced the move Monday without elaborating.
The 6-foot-10 Davis averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds and nearly seven blocked shots per game last season at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va.
Davis' exit leaves the Mountaineers with four recruits for the upcoming season: Darryl "Truck" Bryant, Devin Ebanks, Kevin Jones and Dee Proby.
White's name on Camp watch list
MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia quarterback Pat White is among 35 players on the watch list for the Walter Camp Award, given to the college football player of the year.
The list released Monday also includes Florida's Tim Tebow, last year's Heisman Trophy winner.
The list will be cut to 15 semifinalists in early November and the winner will be announced in December.
