Bun Run 5K part of 2010 W.Va. Hot Dog Festival
HUNTINGTON -- The 2010 West Virginia Hot Dog Festival got off to a running start on Saturday morning as 351 racers completed the 2010 Bun Run 5K.
Huntington's David Bias won the men's overall with a time of 15:39, which was 11 seconds ahead of runner-up Josh Linkous. Chuck Wentz finished third with a time of 16:21.
In the women's division, Megan Truelove of Winfield earned the crown with a time of 19:20. She was 32 seconds ahead of runner-up Sarah Ruggles. Lauren Edwards finished in 20:01 to claim third in the women's overall.
The top three finishers in each age group, as well as the wheelchair and stroller divisions, received glass trophies for their accomplishments.
Pre-registered participants also received a T-shirt commemorating the race.
All proceeds from the race benefit the Children's Cancer unit at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, located at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
